What is a Shining Star Class?
A shining star class is a non performance class. This is for the dancer that loves dance without the performance aspect or cost of a costume. Dancers dance August through June and follow KDB calendar, rules and regulations, registration fee, tuition, and early exit fees.
Classes are grouped by ages. No shoes are required. Each semester Super Star Classes will have a Parent Showcase in the Studio. The perfect program to build technique, encourage and foster a love of dance, and confidence.
What is a Super Star Recreational Class?
Recreational Classes are designed with the beginner in mind that is looking to dance for fun once a week and perform in our KDB Holiday Show and Spring Recital. We offer a variety of recreational classes that you will find on our Schedule page. Classes are grouped by ages and technique level. Dancers can take several recreational classes a week and can bundle classes for discounted prices. Most costumes in the recreational level range from $50 to $75 per class. Dancers dance August through June and follow KDB calendar, rules and regulations, registration fee, tuition, and early exit fee. Dancers are required to purchase shoes from KDB only during welcome week. Dancers are required to be in proper dance attire listed on our attire and shoe list page.
What is a Competitive Class?
A competitive dance class is a class that the dancer is ready to take their training to the next level. Dancers train more hours during the week and understand that Ballet is the complete foundation for the successful dancer. A competitive dancer attends 3 competitions a year where they receive constructive feedback from respected judges on how they can improve their performance. The competitive structure class helps students to build self confidence and understand the importance of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and most importantly commitment. Dancers must audition, commit to a rehearsal and class contract, perform in both Holiday and Spring Recital, and Competitive Showcase. Competitive Dancers attend recreational classes during the week based on level and technique and meet two Saturdays a month to complete and rehearse competitive pieces.
